INTRAM BARWELL LED THE WAY AGAIN
At the Grand Designs London Live Show at Excel last year an Architect by the name
of Richard Hawkes had a dream of building his very own zero carbon house in Staplehurst,
Kent
One of the areas he knew had to be addressed was the lighting, and upon arrival
at the Intram Barwell stand he found what he was looking for.
LED Lighting has been a buzz phrase for a while now but all it has brought has been
disappointment to those who thought it would be their saviour, but what Richard
saw on the stand was the first LED he had seen that punched out as much light as
anyone would need, yet at a fraction of the cost.
One year on and
53 Tilt downlighters, in a satin chrome finish, have been installed
at ‘Crossways’ and the results have been better than he thought possible.
With all the building regulations for fire, acoustic and airtightness qualities
being taken care of in the design it was a true fit and forget scenario.
On the 18th Feb at 9pm on channel 4, Richards ‘Crossways’ project with living roof
and LED downlights will be aired.
