Toroidal
How many lamps can I run on a transformer?
Single output transformers (BR, FL & PT Ranges)
Between min. 80% & max. 100%
E.g. 300VA-wound transformer min load = 240W max load = 300W
Transformers with Multi-Outputs (MF Range)
Between; using only one of the transformers outputs, up to; using all of the outputs, each with a 50W load.
Can I join the terminals together on a multi output transformer to get a single output?
The multi-output terminals of the MF range are divided into dedicated individually driven circuits with independent current sensitive protection devices operating independently of each other. Therefore, it is not possible.
Why is my MCB tripping and what can I do about it?
When toroidal transformers are connected to a standard lighting circuit protected by an MCB (miniature circuit breaker), the inrush current, which can be many times greater than the running current, is detected by the MCB and causes the MCB to trip out. This nuisance tripping can be avoided by using the correct class of MCB for inductive loads. Avoid too many toroidal transformers on any one circuit.
What are the dimensions and weight of my toroidal transformer?
Please refer to the product datasheet (available to download from the product page), or refer to the IBL catalogue.
What type of dimmer can I use with my IBL toroidal transformers?
IBL toroidal transformers can be dimmed using leading edge phase control dimmers designed to control inductive transformer loads. Please confirm compatibility with the dimmer manufacturer
